The Summer Slam is the largest, pre-season volleyball tournament in the state of Wisconsin. Held in the state of the art Wisconsin Dells Center in Wisconsin Dells and sponsored by Chula Vista Resort, teams have the opportunity for last chance summer fun AND practice for the upcoming season.
Registration is open to any and all teams. This year’s entry fee is $200, teams who bring a Varsity and a Junior Varsity receive a 10% discount on the second team, and teams who bring a Varsity, JV and Freshman team will receive a 20% discount for the third team. Teams will play a minimum of 5 matches over two days. Play will begin at 8:30 AM on Friday and will continue at 8:30 AM Saturday.
All teams must provide a roster with insurance waivers for each player on the roster. Insurance Waivers are available in the navigation on the right. Teams must wear shirts with numbers, they do not have to be matching, they just have to have a number on front and back. Teams are reminded that it is against WIAA rules to use school owned uniforms out of season. Libero’s can be used they will need to be identified prior to the start of each set. Games balls and referees will be provided. Teams will have reffing/scoring duties and should bring their own warm-up balls. Again, WIAA prohibits use of school owned volleyballs .
Q. What time will the Wisconsin Dells Center Open on Friday?
A. The doors will open at 7:30 AM.
Q. Can we bring lunch?
A. Teams and spectators can bring only individual water bottles into the facility.
Q. Can our parents, friends, family watch?
A. Parents, friends and family are encouraged to watch. Every court has plenty of comfortable seating. There is an admission fee of $3 for adults and $2 for children over 10 years of age.
Q. Will there be volleyballs at the Wisconsin Dells Center?
A. There will be game volleyballs for each court. Teams will need to bring their own volleyballs for warming up.
Q. How many people can we have on our team?
A. Teams can have up to 15 people. ALL players must be on the roster and have a parents signature on the waiver.
Q. Do we need to bring an official?
A. Up officials will be provided. Each team will need to provide a down official, scorekeepers and line judges when they are the reffing crew.
Q. What happens if our team is scheduled to ref and we don't?
A. Teams that do not fullfill their reffing duties will forfeit the first game of their next match. If you do not have a match after your missed assignment, your team will be fined $25 and will not be allowed to renter the tournament until the fine is paid.
Teams will not be registered without full payment in advance. A complete and signed roster will be required on the first day of play. Forms will be available on our website. Registration Fee $200. Please enclose a check for $200 made out to Molten Camps. Deadline is July 15, 2010. Notification of tournament schedule will be emailed out August 1, 2010 and posted here on our website.
